Over the weekend, I attended the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon. As always, it was wonderful to mingle with fellow creators.
I got to see the much anticipated Cabal Cut of Nightbreed, my favorite horror film. Now running at 144 min, it includes much of the footage that was cut from the original theatrical release. The film was outstanding, and if you have the chance to see it at any upcoming festivals, I very much recommend it.
Another highlight was seeing a live production of a radio play of At The Mountains of Madness, put on by
Dark Adventure Radio Theatre.
Many horror shorts screened at the festival, as well. In particular, I loved
Grasshopper!, George Jones and Giant Squid, Reset, Feed A, LOT254, and Odokuro, a stop-motion animated short narrated by
Gary Numan. I didn't get to see all the shorts, and I'm sure there were some fantastic ones I missed.
It was a fabulous weekend full of horror goodness!
