The Extraterrestrial Highway

I just drove down the Extraterrestrial Highway for the first time. The Nevada highway stretched out in a straight line before me, rugged desert mountains on both sides. Wild mustangs raced along the snow-dusted terrain.

For dinner, I stopped at the Little A'Le'Inn diner. Outside a UFO sculpture blinked in many-colored lights. A tow-truck hauled a broken-down UFO. Inside the diner was full of UFO, alien, and flying saucer art and merchandise. Photos hung on the wall from the recent shoot of Simon Pegg's film Paul.

I drove by Area 51 in the darkness, Joshua trees emerging hauntingly in my headlights. At the end of the road, I was rewarded by fresh alien jerky. What more could one want?
